The First Time
The first 2010 Buffalo Chili Fest took place on Sunday afternoon, April 11th at D'Arcy McGee's Irish Pub on Franklin Street, downtown Buffalo.
Sponsored and founded by WebArt Designs, the festival was conceived as a celebration of good times and good food to help benefit Western New York's leading non-profit human services agency, People Inc. Through a variety of services including residential, employment, community outreach, health care and recreation programs, they help seniors, families and people with disabilities live more healthy, independent and prod
Mmmmmmmmmm...
As the smell of delicious, flavorful chili drifted throughout the event, guests were treated to a varried selection of wonderful culinary samples from 20 of WNY's most popular restaurants and chefs. Live music from the band November 11th enhanced the feeling of goodness from your ears to your taste buds as sauce embellshed smiles were abundant on this warm sunny afternoon.
Estimates of well over 500 attendees were a welcome sight considering this event was concieved, developed and presented in mearly 6 weeks preparation. Staff and volunteers at People Inc. and lead by director Denise M. Paszkiewicz made extrordinary efforts to reach out to the business community as well as utilizing thier own resources to create scenery, prepare signs and displays to ensure that we were able to host a fun, quality event that was a worthwhile way to spend an afternoon with family and friends, (...and we're just getting started).
